Your computer system can go down for any number of reasons. Stuff like viruses, registry errors, crashes and blue screen are just a few. Fixing these things is no easy task, especially for those who do not know much about computer repairs or computer optimization. Most of us would automatically think of the easiest solution, albeit with a price: computer repairmen.

A computer repairman takes away the computer problems as easily as transferring a couple hundred dollars or more from your bank account to their account. It is also inconvenient for you because the repairman might want to take your computer to their service center, and they will be able to access information saved on your computer. How does that sound? Creepy, isn’t it? There is a better way. One good solution is to prevent the problems in the first place. You can actually fix your computer at home, without paying anyone and you will know what you’re doing. There are five easy steps to do to make your computer perform well and fix itself. They are defragging, registry cleaning, removing junk files, updating Windows, and cleaning out malware infections.

Defragging is a term used to describe defragmenting the hard drive. It is a computer process that you must run on your hard drives and it will make your computer work faster. Computer reads and saves files differently. A single file is divided into clusters and then saved into different shelves that the computer can access anytime. Defragging the system allows the computer to arrange the saved files into a grouping thus minimizing fragmentation of the saved files, making the computer work faster.

Registry cleaning, on the other hand, uses a type of program called Registry Cleaner to clean the computer registry of keys that are irrelevant and may cause damage due to the fact that they are of no use, incomplete, outdated and taking up registry space. Cleaning the registry is like sweeping a house full of dust and cobwebs, making it look better and livable. When you uninstall software or change something in your computer, registry data changes. Over time, keys in the registry can become corrupt and cause errors. Registry cleaners automate the registry cleaning process and help speed up your computer.

Your operating system itself needs updating from time to time as the computer and all its devices and software evolve over time. Some software that is performing correctly last year may not work well this year. An update refreshes your operating system and changes anything that is outdated for better performance. Never leave any junk files sitting on your computer. These files may affect the computer in no time as it takes space and can consume resources. Delete and clean your computer of temporary files, junk files in your browsers and web cookies.

You should also use an anti-virus or malware removal tool. Scan your computer often for security and search the internet for solutions on how to prevent malware affecting your computer. Do all the steps often and you’ll see that you can kiss your computer repairman goodbye and save a ton of cash too.

Internet explorer is the primary browser on your default Windows system and is a very essential part of Microsoft Windows operating system. Unfortunately, there may be situations when Internet Explorer becomes slow, displays error messages, crashes or won’t open at all. In such situations users need to fix internet explorer problems. Below are some tips for people who are looking for information about repairing Internet Explorer.

First and foremost is to have a full scan of your PC with good security software. If the system is infected by viruses, worms, Trojans or any other issue, clean them from the system. Security programs that are not properly configured may also cause the Internet explorer to malfunction. Restart the system and check if Internet Explorer is working normally. Also add-ons and toolbars may interrupt in the functioning of Internet Explorer. This problem generally arises during software installations which ask for installing additional plug-ins and toolbars. Disable add-ons and see if your problem gets solved.

If your IE Problem isn’t fixed yet, you can reset its settings. If you are using an older version of Internet Explorer, this would also be a cause of problems occurring with your Internet Explorer. Get your Explorer updated and see if your problem is fixed. Another thing that you can do to fix the issue is to empty the internet explorer cache. Generally the cache doesn’t get damaged but it becomes too large and this can cause issues.

So if you are having issues with Internet Explorer, you need to address the problem quickly. If it is to do with viruses or malware, it can lead to further more serious problems. Generally newer versions of IE are pretty stable, so make sure you keep them up-to-date.

You can run a third party scan with products available from this site. In most cases they will fix the associated errors or crashes.

Many users of Google’s free e-mail service Gmail were stranded Tuesday afternoon when they logged on to find the service no longer working.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused Tuesday’s disruption, which led Gmail users to get an “Unable to reach Gmail” error message as their computers tried repeatedly to reconnect to the service. Google said it was investigating.

Complaints began appearing on Twitter around 4 p.m. EDT. In a 4:02 p.m. EDT post on its Apps Status page, Google confirmed that Gmail was suffering an outage.

Google has kept its major outages relatively rare. Gmail went down for more than two hours in February and about the same length of time in August 2008. In May, the search engine was unavailable to many users for about an hour.

Basically this is an easy fix – get a new data stick!

Readyboost requires at least 256MB of available storage space on your data stick to work, and if you don’t it will not work. So get yourself a larger data stick and try out ReadyBoost, it is a good feature.
