Make Media Player Start in Mini Player

If you are sick of Windows Media Player opening up the whole player every time you run a song then you can do this tweak that will set it to just open the mini player when you play a song;

  • Open windows media player
  • Click now playing > more options
  • Click the player tab
  • Make sure ‘start the mini player…’ is checked
  • Now you have to add something in the line underneath, basically any word that will be in music files that you start (examples below)
    • add mp3 if all your music files are mp3′s
    • add the drive name if all files are kept in the one drive (eg. C:)
  • Click apply
  • Done
Start the Mini Player

Disable Tabbed Browsing

Personally I’m a huge fan of tabbed browsing in Firefox and now Internet Explorer, but for some reason people out there want to know how to disable them – so here you go;

You need to install and add on from Mozilla called Tab Killer, by running this you will completely disable the ability to use tabs.

Download Tab Killer

  • Click settings in the tabs section
  • Uncheck enable tabbed browsing
  • Click OK
  • Restart your IE
Disable Tabbed Browsing

Change the Size of Vista Borders

The borders on Windows Vista have been set large by default so their new graphics and design can be shown off, but if you don’t like the large borders you can adjust the size of them;

  • Right click your desktop
  • Click personalize
  • Click windows color and appearance
  • Click advanced
  • From the dropdown select border padding
  • Change the size (I suggest 2)
  • Click OK
  • Done

Social networking sites Twitter and Facebook suffered attacks on Thursday from a hacker who temporarily shut down both sites. They are both believed to be all OK now and up and running.

ReadyBoost Won’t Work With My Data Stick

I have had a few emails regarding ReadyBoost, mainly from people trying to test out the feature but are unable to do so due to an error trying to set it up.

Basically this is an easy fix – get a new data stick!

Readyboost requires at least 256MB of available storage space on your data stick to work, and if you don’t it will not work. So get yourself a larger data stick and try out ReadyBoost, it is a good feature.
